The poem is recited by four speakers into various resonant objects such as milk bottles, shells, ostrich eggs, etc. The speakers attempt to allow the resonances of their own voices to match those of the objects into which they speak. Wave Songs (1998), eleven solos for female voice and pure wave oscillators [18:00]. This work was commissioned by the Wadsworth Atheneum for a 1998 exhibition of the works of visual artist Lee Lozano that included her eleven Wave Paintings (1967–70).
